Day 50: 7th grade blog questions
10 blog posts which answer each of the following guiding questions:
a. Who is your person and when and where was he/she born?
b. What role did he/she play in the building of our nation?
c. What is this person “famous” or “infamous” for?
d. How did he/she meet his/her death?
e. What are at least 5 notable facts about your person?
f. If this person had opposition, who were the person’s foes?
g. Tell me a little bit about the place the person comes from. How does this person live?
h. What does the person do for a living?
i. Generate a list of 10 vocabulary words with full definitions and original sentences that can be associated with your person.
j. Would you be friends with your person now if he or she were still alive? Why or why not?

Day 48: 7th grade blogger setup, 6th grade finish spreadsheet project
7th grade new project:
Each student will create a new blog for assigned revolutionary war person.
1. Go to blogger.com
2. Click on the big orange arrow marked “create your blog now”
3. Enter your @wjps.org email address and password as directed, the word verification, and don’t forget to check the “I accept” box
4. Click continue
5. Name your blog like this: ”class” “person name” “year”
NOTE: NO capital letters and NO spaces
example: 702johnadams2008.blogspot.com
6. Choose a template
7. Enter your first post which states who you are and when you were born and died.

Spreadsheet Project Portfolio
Your folder should contain these items:
- worksheet activity #1
- worksheet activity #2
- Gasoline Calculator spreadsheet
- Reflective paragraph/journal
- Evaluation rubric sheet(get it from Ms. Dryg)

Follow the instructions from the Phase 3 section of the procedures which says:
Phase 3 will require you to write a paragraph about what you have learned throughout this WebQuest. It will be evaluated by your teacher using the rubric in the evaluation section of this WebQuest.

Day 33-34: Wiki Project Portfolio
Your portfolio should include:
- Project Coverletter
- Coverpage of your wikispace website, showing URL of space and links to images or other pages in the site
- 10 facts about your topic
- 10 source URL's
- presentation rating sheet
- self evaluation, (word document if you need to print it)
- grading rubric
Day 31: Wiki Portfolio Coverletter
- Intro: Generally describe the overall project and what you will tell us in the rest of the letter.
- Body
- How to create and use a wiki
- Describe the process and working collaboratively
- Observing how Art and images tells us about culture and time
- Learning about:
Asian countries

American Indians
- Conclusion: Were you and the project a success? Did you enjoy it? What did you learn? How can you use it in the future? What questions do you still have?

Day 25: Research Project Portfolio Requirements
On Friday all groups will give a 3-5 minute presentation on the culture that they have been researching. Discuss with your group what facts, ideas, and descriptions you want to teach the class about your topic. Use the home page of the group wiki to get organized. Decide who will say what, each group member should participate in some way with the presentation.

Day 24: HW#3, Purposes of Art, Expression
HW#3
Bring in your initial brainstorm sketches, revised version, and final color composition.
Background information:
Using the letters of our first names we brainstormed to come up with 6 different 2D versions of each letter.
Next we chose the style that we were the most fond of and revised it to make it even more interesting and figure out how we would create each letter in the chosen style.
For homework, create a finished design in color which expresses a particular theme or feeling.

Day 23: Website as flowchart, making links, inserting images
We looked at how websites flow, and a sample graphic organizer for how information flows in a website, and wikispace. This kind of picture is called a " flowchart".
There are two parts to every link, 1-clickable text, or picture, and 2- the URL or new place that the link takes you.
Images can be inserted using the "insert image" button on the document toolbar. Images can be uploaded from a disk or thumb-drive, images can be inserted by entering the URL of the original page you found the picture on.

Day 22: wikispaces vs. wikispaces account
Your wiki account gets you into wikispaces.
Your group wikispace is where you collaborate with your classmates on your group project.
Each group wikispace will contain the main page, commonly known as the "homepage", and links to individual research pages.
The main page is a collection of important facts and dates that your group decides to use in their presentation.
The individual research pages should contain your images and the URL's where you got your information from.
A complete body of work for each group and each person will include:
- facts
- images
- URL's

Day 21: More about YOUR group's wiki
Now that you have a wikispaces account, choose one member of your group to create your group's wiki so you can collaborate on your research; eventually it will be in wiki-pedia format. Name your wiki like this: ancientegypt702.wikispaces.com, so we know which class you are from and what your topic is.
The person you select will invite the rest of you to the wikispace with your @wjps account. From the "manage this wiki" link on the left hand side of the page, members or space owners can invite others and do other space managing.
Once you've been invited, check your email inbox, accept the invitation, and each of you start adding your 10 facts together.
