Day 50: 7th grade blog questions

10 blog posts which answer each of the following guiding questions:

a. Who is your person and when and where was he/she born?
b. What role did he/she play in the building of our nation?
c. What is this person “famous” or “infamous” for?
d. How did he/she meet his/her death?
e. What are at least 5 notable facts about your person?
f. If this person had opposition, who were the person’s foes?
g. Tell me a little bit about the place the person comes from. How does this person live?
h. What does the person do for a living?
i. Generate a list of 10 vocabulary words with full definitions and original sentences that can be associated with your person.
j. Would you be friends with your person now if he or she were still alive? Why or why not?

Day 48: 7th grade blogger setup, 6th grade finish spreadsheet project

7th grade new project:
Each student will create a new blog for assigned revolutionary war person.
1. Go to blogger.com
2. Click on the big orange arrow marked “create your blog now”
3. Enter your @wjps.org email address and password as directed, the word verification, and don’t forget to check the “I accept” box
4. Click continue
5. Name your blog like this: ”class” “person name” “year”
NOTE: NO capital letters and NO spaces
example: 702johnadams2008.blogspot.com
6. Choose a template
7. Enter your first post which states who you are and when you were born and died.

All classes, 6th & 7th grade:

Spreadsheet Project Portfolio

Your folder should contain these items:
  • worksheet activity #1
  • worksheet activity #2
  • Gasoline Calculator spreadsheet
  • Reflective paragraph/journal
  • Evaluation rubric sheet(get it from Ms. Dryg)
This is the final portfolio that you will be evaluated on before I'm off to school too!

HW#4: Phase 3 of spreadsheet project

Follow the instructions from the Phase 3 section of the procedures which says:

Phase 3 will require you to write a paragraph about what you have learned throughout this WebQuest. It will be evaluated by your teacher using the rubric in the evaluation section of this WebQuest.
  • Write a paragraph or two about what you learned throughout this WebQuest. Include a brief statement about choices you will make regarding selecting a car when the time comes.
  • Turn in your writing to be evaluated using the rubric.

Day 43-44: Back to our spreadsheet project

By now students have completed worksheet #1: Gas prices and #2: Hybrid vehicles; that's phase one of the project.
For phase two we will create a spreadsheet that:
  • contains data about certain car models
  • performs calculations with the gathered data
Phase two procedures
